    Hi,

    I will add a little to what Prabhakar said though it is correct that ~>?? will show you all of the attributes and their values belonging to a database object. To be explicit, the ~>points attribute will give you the coordinates of a polygonal shape, and ~>bBox can be used for a rectangular shape. Other shapes, for example a donut, have other attributes such as innerRadius and outerRadius, so the answer to the question will depend on what type of shape you have.

    Also, you may be wanting to find shape information based on the name of a layer-purpose pair, rather than selecting a shape in the layout. In this case, you can query based on the LPP object as a starting point, for example the following will show bounding box information for all shapes on the ("metal1" "drawing") layer-purpose:

      lpId = car(setof(lp geGetEditCellView()~>lpps lp~>layerName == "metal1" && lp~>purpose == "drawing"))
      lpId~>shapes~>bBox

    I hope that this information also helps!

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
