new to skill scripting

 Hi People,

Is there a way to script in virtuoso layout a keepout layer. To make sure that there is no other layers or instance outside my design outline or area.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

So what tools are you using? Is this IC5141 or IC613 based (because the objects are different between the two). Are you using a router such as VCAR (Virtuoso Chip Assembly Router) or VSR (Virtuoso Space Based Router). Or is this for placement?

Really needs more details before being able to give you a general answer. In IC613 you can create blockages using Create->P&R Objects->Blockage (say), but that isn't going to be relevant if you're using IC5141.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

     Hi Andrew,

I'm using IC5141 and not using VCAR just normal Virtuoso Layout Editor Tool. It's something like a general check(i.e DRC check) to make sure that there are no foreign layers/instances/text/etc outside my design outline after I've done my layout. I can actually check my layout manually by selecting all layers and make sure there are no layers, etc outside my design outline area. But I want it to do it in skill scripting and want to learn more about skill.

I hope I have given you enough info.

    cheers,
