Short locator between 2 nets.

 Hi Friends

               I am trying to find short between 2 nets (Eg: VDD & VSS). I created the GUI in that we can feed the value of net name as in the layout. But l want to zoom to the shorted co-ordinates as a result . Even if its shorted in 1 or more locations I need to record those co-ordinates and zoom in to it.

 I was trying with the bbox but i could not end up with solution. Please i need some suggestion on this.

    How are you finding the two shorted nets? Using a tool such as assura?

    Do you have pin objects in your layout that are associated with these two nets? Pins have a bBox.

     Yes. I got the pins in the layout. As per (EG. I got VDD pin & VSS pin in metal1).

    I am not using any tools such as assura for finding shorts. By the pins we can regonize the nets which its corresponds too. Then if both the nets are overlapping we can zoom to the overlapped location. This is a over all idea. Any comments.

    Oh sorry I didn't understand the question at first. This code should help you. I've also attached it because I can't format it correctly here.

    procedure( myGUI()
    let( (myChoices pinObjects)
    myChoices = list("PIN1" "PIN2")
    pinObjects = getMyPinObjects() ; you have to write this function to return a list of pins in the same order as myChoices list
    hiCreateAppForm(
    ?name 'myForm
    ?formTitle "Example"
    ; ?buttonLayout 'Empty
    ?dontBlock t
    ?fields list(
    list(hiCreateLabel(?name 'label ?labelText "Click a pin below to zoom to it in layout") 0:0 1:10 10)
    list(hiCreateListBoxField(
    ?name 'pin
    ?choices myChoices
    ?valueByPosition t
    ?changeCB "myZoom(pinObjects)"
    ?CBOnReselect t
    ) 0:30 750:(cadr(hiGetMaxScreenCoords()) / 2))
    )
    ?initialSize t
    )
    hiDisplayForm(myForm)
    )
    )

    procedure( myZoom(pinObjects)
    let( (cvId bBox)
    cvId = hiGetCurrentWindow()->cellView
    if(dbobjectp(cvId) then
    bBox = nth(sub1(myForm->pin->value) pinObjects)->fig->bBox ; this is the bBox of the selected pin's figure
    hiZoomIn(cvId bBox) ; zoom to the selected pin
    else
    printf("Error: current window is not a cell view\n")
    )
    )
    )
