Dynamic Display

I would like to turn on dynamic display by default and I tried to set the following env variable:

layout  balloonOn       boolean t

However, when I first start Cadence, I need to manually open the Dynamic Display option form in order for info balloon to start working. No info balloon will show up if I do not manually open the Dynamic Display option form.

Also, I would like to know how can I change the default Dynamic Display filter i.e. the object display setting that defines which property should appear in the info balloon. Is there an easy way to define my own, default info balloon display setting for all of my projects (each has its own startup directory)?

Thanks!

    Hi Yaosan

If your .cdsenv file in in the working directory, perhaps it is not being loaded during Virtuoso startup. Please add the following shell variable to your .cshrc file:

    setenv CDS_LOAD_ENV addCWD

To save the info balloon display configuration, please click the "save" button and then click the "Default" button. This will create a file named "odc.il" in the directory .cadence/dfII/ODC.

To customize the info balloons, please refer to "Object display control skill functions" in $CDSHOME/doc/sklayoutref/sklayoutref.pdf.

    Best regards
    Quek
