Help needed to prompt user for entering multiple boxes and for storing the co-ords using enterBox() function?

Hi! All, I am using Cadence IC514 version.

I need help to complete the following task.

I would like to use enterBox() function repitatively and want to store the co-ordinates into a file when I press escape.

(I wish to process these coordinates in a procedure that will be called after pressing escape key.)

Please, some one drive me in this way..!

Regards...

    Hi Prabhakar,

    How about something like this:

    (procedure writeBoxes(filename "t")
    (let (filePtr box infixChanged)
    (setq filePtr (outfile filename))
    (when (getq (hiGetCIWindow) infix)
    (putpropq (hiGetCIWindow) nil infix)
    (setq infixChanged t)
    ); when
(while (setq box (enterBox ?prompts list("Enter a box")))
    fprintf(filePtr "%L\n" box)
    ); while
    (close filePtr)
    (when infixChanged
    (putpropq (hiGetCIWindow) t infix)
    ); when
    ); let
    ); procedure writeBoxes

The enterBox is called as part of a while loop, relying on the function to return the entered box or 'nil' if the command was cancelled. For each box the coordinates are written to a file and the file is closed just after the while loop.  I stored and re-stored the infix because if infix is 't' the last point of one box becomes the first point of the next which would probably be annoying.  Sorry for anyone who can't "read" the LISP style format.

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
