help: script to merge path in layout

 Hi Everyone,

 does anyone have a script to merge selected path even if their wireends are not on the same point or along a straight line?

would be much better if it can also join paths of different layer and/or different width. That is, the resultant path will base its parameters from the first selected object. I am trying to look now in the cadence center but I don't think I could find exactly what I want.
