Updating device properties after the use of a Skill script

archive
archive over 15 years ago

Hi All,

I have used a netlist to generate some schematics using the Import-> Spice tool in the CIW window In the schematics generated I have noticed that in any pch or nch the value of W and Total_W were not the same as it should be since the value for fingers and multiplier was 1 , this as you can understand gives me false simulation results and mismatches during LVS (please see attachment)I have used a skill script to match the value of w and Total_W (prompt names w and wf respectively) but after that I have noticed parameters such as drain area were not updated to the new value of w.Is any set command lines that I have to inserted into my script in order to update these parameters

 Many Thanks

 Nik

    Andrew,

    Thanks for you reply

    It works fine now!

Just a last thing, I remember in IC 5.xx there were a function where I could apply a Skill script to a whole library (through process library menu)

Is anything similar to IC 6.1.3? I would like to apply the Skill script that I got (not only the one you suggested me) to the whole of a library in one go

Thanks once again for your help

    Best Regards,

    Nik

     Nik,

There's never been any standard utility to do this - so I can only presume that this "process library menu" was something to do with a particular design kit.

Calling a function on every cell in a library is pretty easy - in fact there's an example in the solution I posted earlier. There are two files, one which is CCSinvokeCdfCallbacks.il (which you've used), but the other is CCSCdfCallbackEntireLib.il (not written by me) which does something similar to what you want, and can easily be adapted.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

     Hi Andrew,

I experience the same problem. In my case when I use spice tool the effective width gets modified while the width remains the default value. Then I used the skill skript attached the effective width changes back to the default value (wrong). I guess there is a callback for effective width which gets auto triggered when width callback occurs. Help me.

    Regards,

    Mohan

    Mohan,

The forum guidelines ask you not to post on the end of old (4 year old in this case) threads. But apart from that, my guess is that you want to use the ?order argument to the SKILL functions I mentioned - these allow you to control which order the callbacks get called in, and maybe call just a subset of them. It's pretty hard to be certain though without seeing your data - maybe contacting customer support would be best?

    Andrew.

Why is this "solution" just a link to Cadence's support home page? Shouldn't it link to an actual solution?

Because this is a pretty old post, we've been through at least two forum software migrations and one major Cadence Online Support migration in the meantime and so it probably got munged during that process. Anyway, I've fixed the link.
