hi,

I want to know other than "drawing" what all other purpose i  can feed in the layer section

ie ?layer list( "poly" "drawing") instead of "drawing" what else can i feed?? i think default it takes as "drawing". If i feed anything other than "drawing",do i need to change anything else so that my layout also accepts these changes??

Hope my question is clear and not rubbish!!!

Regards,

Messi

    Hi Messi,

The purpose could be anything. The purpose names are defined in the technology file. There are a few standard purpose names (eg drawing, pin, net) but there is nothing to stop somebody defining a purpose "foo" if they wanted to.

It shouldn't really affect your code though. There's nothing particular special about any purpose (although "drawing" is often assumed.

You should be able to use tech* functions (I'll leave it to you to check the documentation) to find out the purposes defined in you technology.

    Regards,

    Andrew
