Create custom button in ADE for running specific simulation

 Hello,

I have to create SKILL script which creates custom button in ADE.

The functionality of this button must be equal as "Run simualtion " button without netlisting.

Only one specific Environment option must be included: +query=tokenlic.

When includingthis this option simulation actually stops after netlisting (if there is netlisting) and in the output log is reported the number of token licenses.

My task goes further. I want the number of token licenses to be outputed on message window.

First hard subtask in this script is how to create custom button in ADE.

The second hard subtask is to run the simulation with +query=tokenlic.

Please give ideas about the realization of this script!

Best regards,

tyanata

I think creating a button is not possible.

But you can customized the menu
Copy the required menu file from
    <cds_inst_dir>/tools/dfII/etc/tools/menus
    to <work_dir>/menus
    and do some experiments.

     Hi,

if you really (have to) build a button in ADE, I recommand you  create a form with specific button or customerize you own menus.

     Yes,

I  started to create custom menu in ADE. I found these topics on support.cadence.com:

    Solution ID: 11346956

    Solution ID: 11286092

    So I will try them.

    Best regards,

I apready succeeded to do the job written in the listed solutions.

The specific thing is that you have to insert following line in your .cdsinit file:

    load("project_path/menus/spectre.menus")

The bad thing is that this solution creates submenu My Options under menu Simulation->Options

I Actually prefer the created new menu item to be on the top of ADE window, but as beginning of the task, it is already one step further..

    Regards,

    tyanata

    Hi,
it's really a good news, thanks for remending! you can refer to the analog artist skill reference P42, there are some explainations. Try coping the existing menus and modify it, I hope this can help you get your idea.
