Passing on command line arguments to ocean script

Hello,

I am running ocean simulations on my UNIX terminal using commands such as "ocean -nograph -restore myoceanscript.ocn". I was wondering if there's a way to include an argument in the command line and pass it on to the ocean script. For example, I could type "ocean -nograph -restore myoceanscript.ocn outputfile_name.out" on the command line to tell the ocean script what the output file name should be.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi Wonyoung,

    Unfortunately the argv() function won't work in this context, so the only way to do this is probably to create a wrapper script, something like:

    #!/bin/sh
    script=$1
    shift
    export REMAININGARGS="$@"
    ocean -nograph -restore $script

    Then you could run:

    oceanWrapper myScript.ocn testing 123

    Within the OCEAN script, you could use getShellEnvVar("REMAININGARGS") to find out what else was passed in.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
