inst~>orient should work fine, assuming that the variable inst is actually containing an instance Id. What does inst~>objType return? You say it "is not working" - what do you mean by "not working"? What does it return?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

I returns nothing . while printing it [printf ( " %s "  inst~>orient )] it shows that the argument to printf is nil . inst does contain an instance id.

It says "mosaic" whereas the orientation is "R0"

So in that case, it isn't an instance id, it's a mosaic id. You can see the orientation looking at mosaicId~>tileArray (assuming it's a simple mosaic, which is all that's possible in IC61, then car(mosaicId~>tileArray) will tell you.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
