IC5 - IC6 GUI forms comapatibility.

 Hello,

I have following problem: I created some SKILL GUI tool for using in IC5141 environment. But now we release also IC6.1.4 and IC6.1.5 to be used. What I see that some of the form in the GUI in the tool opened in IC6 environment are shifted or not visible. For example Close, Help buttons in IC6 are shifted from top the bottom site of the GUI and so all application form in the GUI are shfted.

So do you know how to set in SKILL script some GUI form to appear in IC5 shape nevertheless that IC6 is used.?

As you probably know, the underlying graphics toolkit was changed from the rather elderly Motif (in IC5141) to the modern Qt (in IC61). As part of this the form buttons were moved to the bottom of the form, as this is in line with what most modern user interfaces do (after all you tend to fill in forms from top to bottom). Also a lot of care was taken to ensure that forms should match the geometry they had in IC5141 -  so generally forms look OK in IC61 with no adjustment. The buttons are always at the bottom however. Sometimes I've seen problems because strictly speaking insufficient space had been allowed in IC5141 and the fields were actually overlapping - but you got away with it.

There's no magic option to make forms look like they did before. I would suggest you either contact customer support (with your code) or post it here so we can take a look and provide advice.

    Best Regards,

    Andrew.
