Skill code for copying a view

Hi All,

I would like to copy a view to another view with a different name in the same library & cell by using SKILL.

For example:

From cell A in mylib, I would like to copy the schematic view to schematic.backup view as for backupping my schematic currently. Could you point me out the SKILL code for having this done? Thanks in advance.

dbCopyCellView is the simplest function to use for this, since it's a database view. For other viewTypes, you might need to use the ccpCopy function, which has a more complicated interface. Read the documentation on these functions - particularly the first one.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your quick reply. I've tried with ccpCopy first, but this does not work well and that was my dead end. But with your tips about using dbCopyCellView(), this solves my problem. So thanks again!
