calling edit() within Skill++ code...

 Greetings all,

After reading up on all of the fun stuff that Skill++ enables, I decided to try writing functions inside it.

I'm running into a snag however in that I'm trying to invoke the edit() function inside the code and since it's a nLambda function, skill++ chokes on it.  I found that ed() almost does what I want, but it is a blocking process.

This could be solved in two ways:

  1. Is there a sneaky way to call edit() within skill++ that gets around the nLambda restriction?
  2. Is there a way to spawn ed() to a separate process inside skill++

Ideas?

Thanks,

Mark

    Mark,

    editFile(fileName) will do what you want. There's a CCR to get this documented (it's been there for years). I've checked, and it's public (just not documented yet).

    Andrew.
