Version of assura

 Hi,

I have issues using the assura LVS with 40nm rule deck. The error report says the number of rules in the extract.rul rule file is much more than assura LVS can handle.

The log report reports the following error :--

"*Error* drcExtractRules: too many arguments (at most 65535 expected, 4294938986 given)"

Can anyone please comment on this??

As far as I know this is fixed in the latest versions of Assura. You didn't say which version you're using...

As a workaround (if my memory is correct) you can run Assura in 64 bit mode (see the docs for details).

    Ravi,

ASSURA41. This is the only currently supported version. There is a hotfix from just over a month ago available on downloads.cadence.com

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Ravi,

Actually I don't think it's the problem I thought it was originally. You should contact Cadence Customer Support ( you may also want to contact the foundry that supplied the rules - presumably it has worked for somebody somehow ). The error message suggests to me that something may have got messed up in the rule file - the number of arguments seems inordinately high.

    Andrew.

     Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for all the help.

Now we are facing another problem while running LVS when the layout has been done through Layout XL. The LVS fails with the following comment for all of the devices butted through XL.

*WARNING* Pcell evaluation for tsmcN40/nch_lvt/layout has the following error(s):
*WARNING* ("eval" 0 t nil ("*Error* eval: unbound variable" abutExt))
*WARNING* Error kept in "errorDesc" property of the label "pcellEvalFailed" on layer/purpose "marker/error" in the submaster.

After giving warnings for all Devices LVS fails showing the following message :-

*ERROR* Incomplete layout. If you still want to continue run,
complete the layout or set '?errorOnMissingMaster nil'
Note that default value of parameter '?errorOnMissingMaster' is 't' .

This option shouldn't be triggered for we have devices in layout and they are not missing.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Ravi
