geMakeProbeWithColor issue - seeking workaround

Hi,

      My problem is that I descend down the hierarchy and find a net I want to highlight - net272. But, when I do

geMakeProbeWithColor(?window window(10) ?color list("y0" "drawing") ?object list("net272") ?probeType "net")

I get

*WARNING* Object net272 does not exist in <name of top cell> schematic.

What can I do? How can I tell it to probe in the schematic that is currently being viewed?

geGetEditCellView has the right information.

Thanks!!

    The object list needs to be either a object list or a list of string describing the path.

    You stated that you descend into hierarchy and want to highlight net272.  Therefore, you need to provide the full hierarchical path to that object (e.g. "/blah/foo/net272")

    To get the current hierarchy, you can issue the geGetHierMemInst( ) command.

    Your code could be something like this:

    w_current = hiGetCurrentWindow();
    t_path =  buildString(foreach(mapcar i geGetHierMemInst(w_current) car(i)->name) "/" ) ; from skill reference
    t_name= strcat(t_path "/net272")
    geMakeProbeWithColor(?window w_current ?color list("y0" "drawing") ?object list(t_name) ?probeType "net")

    Mark
