How do I add an lpp to the new layer palette?

Hi,

We are using cadence version 6.1.4.5... I understand the fuctionality of the layerSets. What I need is to be able to add a layer to the palette. Lets say I have M2 throught M6 visible and on the palette. I need to draw M1. Must I load a new layerSet that includes M1 or is there a way to just add M1 to the palette I have loaded?

Regards

     Do I get bonus points for answering my own questions?

    To add a layer to the new palette do the following and please let me know if you see an easier way.

    myPalette = stringToSymbol(strcat("pteLayerPalette" car(last(parseString(sprintf(myString "%L" hiGetSessionWindow( hiGetCurrentWindow())) ":")))))

    leSetLayerValid(lpp t)

    _pteHiLayerSetActiveLpp(dwindow(myPalette) car(lpp) car(last(lpp)))

    To remove the layer from the palette simpley make it not valid.

     leSetLayerValid(lpp nil)

    Have fun

    How about a bonus point for the setting valid and a bonus point for the creative way of making it the entry layer? Then change your code to do this:

    leSetLayerValid(lpp t)
    leSetEntryLayer(lpp)

     Derek,

     That is what I tried the first time. The new palette does not like leSetEntryLayer(lpp). It even corrupted my palette and I had to start cadence over.

    In the code included in this post, lpp is a variable. Typically, lpp stands for "layer, purpose pair". Here are some examples of layer purpose pairs in Virtuoso:

    list("metal1" "drawing")
    list("metal1" "pin")
    list("text" "drawing")

    The format of an lpp is a two item list. The first item is the layer name and the second item is the purpose name. To make the code above work, you could do something like this first:

    lpp = list("text" "drawing")
