Layer generation through script

dNora
dNora over 13 years ago

Hello,

I'm looking for a way to find a contact layer inside certain shape then change that contact into different layer.

I'm aware of Layer Generation code which is interactive tool that generates shape on that cellview.

But I'm trying to write script to walk through library and replace only those contacts intersects with certain layer.

Is that even feasible thing to do through skill script?

Thanks

Nora

    Hi Nora

You can use rteGeomAnd, etc cmds to do hierarchical layer operations. Please refer to SKILL layout reference for more info.

    Hi Quek,

sorry for butting in, I am also interested to use such a function you mentioned so I tried to look into sklayoutref.pdf but I didn't find any in the documentation. further more I tried to execute the command directly into CIW and I get "undefined function"

Also what does the "rte" prefix means here, Is it an Auto-Router command?

Many thanks in advance for any info.

     best regards,

    law

    Hi Law

rte* functions are only available in IC61. I think they were introduced in IC614. "rte" functions are indeed related to Virtuoso Space-based Router (VSR). "rte" = "routing ? ?". : )

    Best regards

Thanks Quek for the reply. I know of rte* functions. But these are available only IC6.1.5 and onwards.

I'm looking for something that works in IC5.1.

    Hi Nora

In that case, you can include the script from COS solution 11237840 and use CCShierLayerOps procedure in your script.

    Hi Nora,

Take a look at Solution 11237840 which contains SKILL code that does the sort of thing that you are looking for. If you had stated that you were using IC5141 from the outset then Quek and the rest of us would know what to suggest (i.e. we would know not to lead with the rteGeom.* functions and mention the leLayer.* and dbLayer.* functions as the first alternative).

I hope that this solution helps you (please provide feedback if that is/is not the case).

    Regards,

    Lawrence.

My bad! I should have mentioned which Cadence version I was using. Thanks for the pointer.
