 Hi,

I want to Flip my instance .I have developed the code as below .It is flipping the instance but the coordinates of instance getting changed.Can anybody say what is the problem in the code.
 procedure(fliphorizontal()

foreach(obj geGetSelectedSet()

  Cur_orient=obj~>orient

  Cur_center=obj~>xy

case(Cur_orient

   ("R0"   Cur_orient="R180")

  ("R180"   Cur_orient="R0")  )

obj~>orient=Cur_orient

obj~>xy=Cur_center))

hiSetBindKey("Layout" "alt<key>h" "fliphorizontal()")

     Hi,

    if what you are trying to do is an inplace flip horizontally, then your script will only work if and only if the obj->xy (instance origin) is exactly at the center (center of object's bounding box) otherwise you have to work on a little bit by modifying the x coordinate of the instance.

    say for example, originally the object origin is at lowerleft, then when you flip it goes to lowerRight, then you need to plus or minus some distance in x direction to get the effect that it didn't move at all, only flipped horizontally.

    I think there is already existing code in this forum that works perfectly.

    This is probably the code you're referring to. lrlsk has explained it exactly. The code you had has an unnecessary modification of the xy attribute - you just set it back to what it was, but mostly it was just you misinterpreting the xy attribute as the centre rather than the origin of the instance.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

    this reminds me that sometime ago (two years back I think) I could access/browse in this website All the existing downloadable CCS skill files sorted in a table including a brief description of each scripts and it's functionality. Are these removed already (limited access) or Is it me that just forgot where and How to find them?

    many thanks in advance for any clarification you can give us.

    best regards,  lrlsk

    On Cadence Online Support if you go to Resources->SKILL Information and then Custom IC Design SKILL Code Library

    It's not complete - I think Lawrence put this together if my memory is correct (maybe he can comment) - but still useful nevertheless.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
