How to get 12 from "12"

Hi all. I need to get  Value of string without quatations. For example 12 from "12" .

    Yes, but the methods that Andrew pointed out are better.  Here's why: The "evalstring" approach can be used to generally evaluate some SKILL expression in a string format, but what if the string happened to contain the word "exit" rather than a number - evalstring would cause the session to close.  So although this approach could be used, I would recommend using one of the earlier noted methods (i.e. atoi, atof, cdfParseFloatString).
