Executing skill functions serially

Hi,

 i have a piece of code which is misbehaving.

updateStatus=ccpCopy("" "" "" "" "")

if( updateStatus==t

        ccpRename("" "" "" "" "")

        )

 updateStatus flag is initially set to nil, now after copying finishes it should be set to true and renaming should start.

but in my case sometimes copy finishes and  updateStatus still remains nil and no renaming occurs.

 Please, comment on the issue and is there any way to execute skill functions serially after one finishes (like ipcWait....or something)

Regards,

 ddr71m

    SKILL is single-threaded, and whilst some things (mainly UI related) don't block, I don't believe ccpCopy() is going to do anything multi-threaded - so it should wait until it has finished. The chances are that the code is actually returning a nil.

    If you have the SKILL development environment, you could use trace(ccpCopy) to see the return value. Or you could just print something out after the ccpCopy.

    So there should be no need to add anything in to wait. Maybe something failed during the copy?

    Andrew.

     Hi,

     Thanks, i noticed a warning message saying " ccp copy Skipping overwrite of file......./data.dm"......cells were copied in the sense that they were opening up but return status of ccpcopy was nil.

      copyStatus=ccpCopy(srcList destList t 'CCP_EXPAND_ALL list() nil)

    When I am using ccpcopy to copy libraries..(and i have created destination lib b4 copying and attached a technology file to it)...the reported error comes up

    but when i am copying cells with the same process ...no problem occurs

    I would suggest you log a service request - it's possible there's a bug here that needs investigating. Either way,  you'll get to an Application Engineer who can take a look at this with you.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
