    This is essentially the same solution as I suggested in this post. For a start, that function is for replacing user defined properties, as you'd see with x~>prop (and specifically x~>prop~>name if you want to find out their names). You're really wanting to replace an attribute of the instance (as you'd see with x~>? or with values, x~>??). However, as documented in the <ICinstDir>/doc/skdfref/skdfref.pdf Chapter 2 (Database Access) in the section "Description of Database Objects" (definitely worth reading if you're trying to modify the database and are new to it), in the section on Cellview Database Object Attributes you'll see that some of the attributes (such as cellName, libName cannot be set. Instead, if you want to change the library name, you have to do:

    newMaster=dbOpenCellViewByType("venu" x~>cellName x~>viewName)
    x~>master=newMaster
    dbClose(newMaster)

    Alternatively if you wanted to replace all instances in the cellView in one go, you can do that with dbSetInstHeaderMasterName. You can get the instHeader object either by searching through cv~>instHeaders or from a specific instance using instId~>instHeader

    Regards,

    Andrew.
