Help on getting net names and Instance names on a path untill sequential(DFF) circuit is found.

 Hi all,

        I am trying to write a script for getting instance names and net names on path in digital circuit untill sequential circuit (like DFF) found in schematic. I want to check it hierarchy level also.  For example when I select some net in schematic thenSome file will show: "EN", "AND" , "net2", "OR", "net3","NOT" ,"net3" (net 3 will connect to as D in DFF).

    Hi Venu,

    I think that Solution 11476064 may help you with this - basically from a net dbId you can get the instance terminals (instTerms) that are on the net, from this you can get to the instance dbId (inst) which will give you the instance name / cell name (name / cellName). For following the hierarchy you would need to open the appropriate schematic view - you may need a switch view list for this or perhaps you wish to follow a configuration (as built by the Hierarchy Editor) - the latter is slightly more complex, but I know that code has been written for that case also.  There may be other solutions in COS (Cadence Online Support), did you search?  If so, what terms did you put?  For my search I used "skill net hierarchy" and the solution was on the expanded first page (i.e. not amongst the first 4-5 results, but in the first 10).

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Lawrence.

     hi Lawrence,

                       Thank you for sharing your knowledge.  What is my requirement is I have digital circuit which is combination of combinational and sequential circuits. I would like to see the nets and gates on path which I selected. Output should be like this: Net9,AND,net12,OR,net13....( By looking this I can understand Net9 is i/p to AND gate and net12 is o/p of it which is going as i/p to the OR .......) . It should check hierarchy level also if it is block.

                       Is there any command to get o/p net of device(Combinational ckt).

     I wrote below code which is not working properly. Actually I planned for top level check only.The hilighted code is for finding output net name of a device because I dont know simple command for getting it. I have problem with order of output nets and devices. And I need hierarchy level also.

    instancesfornet=nil
    outnets=nil
    outnet=nil
    procedure(FPSfindpaths(@optional
    instid outnet
    (visited makeTable('visited nil)) )
    if(outnet==nil
    outnet=car(geGetSelSet())~>net~>name
    )
    mynet = dbFindNetByName(geGetEditCellView() outnet)

    sig =car(mynet~>signals)

    foreach(mInstTrm sig~>memInstTerms
    instancesfornet=cons(car(mInstTrm)~>inst instancesfornet)
    )
    foreach(instid instancesfornet
    unless(visited[instid]
    visited[instid]=t
    i=0
    directions=instid~>instTerms~>direction
    nets=instid~>instTerms~>net~>name
    foreach(output directions
    i++
    v=strcmp(output "output")
    if(v==0 then
    i1=i
    )

    )
    i=1
    foreach(net nets
    if(i1==i then
    outnet=net
    outnets=append(list(outnet instid~>cellName) outnets)
    )
    i++
    )

    outnet=FPSfindpaths(instid outnet visited)
    )
    )

    foreach(name1 outnets
    printf(" %s " name1))
    outnets=nil
    outnet=nil
    instancesfornet=nil
    )
