pcCellView and LINT

Hello,

When using global system variables like pcCellView or cdfgData or cdfgForm, then LINT is very angry saying that those are global variables and this is not ok.

The only solution I have found to avoid these warnings is somethig like:

let( (tmp pcId)
    tmp = 'pcCellView
    pcId = symeval(tmp)
    .....
    ;; use pcId in place of pcCellView
    .....
)

But this is not a very official and ncie solution.

Is there any method to inform LINT that I those variables are OK !?

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Adrian

    Adrian,

    On the SKILL Lint form, you can give a list of Package Prefixes. So you could enter "pc cdfg hic" in that field.

    However, by default, SKILL Lint will have a strict check that the prefixes begin with uppercase. To relax that, you need to turn this strict check off - you can type in the CIW:

    skIgnoreMessage('STRICT)

    I do this all the time when linting code containing such global variables. You definitely should not use the symeval trick, because then you are relying on run-time evaluation and this is less performant.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

     Hello Andrew,

    Indeed very useful hint !

    Using skIgnoreMessage('STRICT) allows me to add lower case Package Prefixes, andthis allows me to use LINT in "good" conditions :)

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,

    Adrian
