User Defined Simulator and corresponding Anlysis Option: ADE L

In ADE I want to have a user defined simulator (say custRunSim) which can be seen in the pop down menu of simulators while cllick on Setup->simulator/Directory/host.... When user will choose the custRunSim simulator it will also change the analysis option (e.g. if simulator changes from spectre to aps lots of analysis option vanishes etc.).

Thanks and regards

Tamal

Sorry for the ambiguos statement; I should put this way:

In ADE if I want to have a user defined simulator (say custRunSim) which can be seen in the pop down menu of simulators while cllick on Setup->simulator/Directory/host..., how should I start or where should I look for reference.

How this customization can also callback a user defined analysis? Say, when user will choose the custRunSim simulator it will also change the analysis option (like when we change the simulator from spectre to aps lots of analysis option vanishes etc.).

     Regards

     Tamal

    Tamal,

There is some coverage of the API in the <ICinstDir>/doc/skartistref/skartistref.pdf . However, you really would want the OASIS Direct Integrators Guide - for this you will need to contact Cadence. Integrating a simulator is something that normally requires close work with Cadence to ensure it's done properly (and most third party simulators often have such an integration already available).

When you do such an integration, you provide definitions and methods for the analyses that simulator supports, as well as providing methods to netlist to that simulator's particular netlist language.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

     ANDREW,

Our Adminastrator is taking this thing with Cadence, it seems a big loop to me and hence for time being I am giving a pause on this implemantation.

    Thanks and regards
