Hi:

there are some problems I want to ask.

 1. how do I cdl out in unix terminal??

 2. how do I create netlist in unix terminal??

3. how do I create dc simulation in unix terminal??

thanks

     Hi Tom,

    1. You can use the "si" 'batch' netlister. You may find Solution 11005433 useful in that task.

    2. See 1.

    3. Assuming that you are using Spectre (though other simulators would work), you can either set up the appropriate controls and circuit stimulation around the netlist that you created and invoke the spectre simulation directly from the command line, or you can use ADE to create the input.scs netlist and control and invoke that, or you can use OCEAN to set up and run the simulation in a non-graphical way.

Which version of Cadence tools are you using (this may well have an impact on the exact flow you might use)?

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Lawrence.

    Hi :

The version I use as below:

    5141_ISR150

    614_ISR8

    1.      I understand after I check the solution from Solution 11005433.

    2.      I mean I use ADE to create spectre netlist. I want to do the same job on batch mode in unix environment.

    3.      I use spectre simulation,

Can you give me the steps that run batch mode in unix??

    thanks

    Hi Tom,

If you wish to create an ADE type of netlist for Spectre, then you can use an OCEAN script for this to netlist and also run the simulation.  Note that you can only netlist the design if running OCEAN from within icfb in the IC5141 version, but the IC61x versions can netlist from the command line ("ocean" is essentially the same as "virtuoso" in IC61). However, you can create the final netlist to simulate from if the design has been netlisted, from "ocean" command line.

View the commands in the runSimulation file that ADE or Ocean creates, this should give you a rough idea of how to run the simulation through Spectre at the command line.

I hope that this helps you!

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
