Controlling Parameter placing in a symbol view

Hi all,

let's say I want to create my own cell for an inductor, I call it my_ind. The schematic contains an ideal (analogLib) ind whose inductance value I set to be

pPar("my_val")

I add two pins to this schematic and I am finished. Then, I create a symbol, a simple box with two pins.

The symbol contains "cdsParam(#)" labels, which I thought should represent...well...the CDS parameters one sees in the form.

I thought this was the case, because if you look at a "standard" symbol like a pulse voltage source:

it really looks like those cdsParam() labels translate into the places where the parameters go...

So I have checked that the type of the two labels is the same (analog device annotate, ILLabel) and everything looks fine to me.

What am I doing wrong? I would like to control the position of the displayed parameters, just like other symbols seem to do.

While I am at this, I may try also to understand what all the different label types mean, how and when to use them ( ILLabel, NLPLabel..) so I'd be grateful for a pointer to the right manual/section.

I hope this is not too confusing and look forward to your replies,

Kind regards,

Michele

...ok...Apologies for not having done my homework beforehand...I found a suitable answer here:

One has to "activate" those cdsParam labels by going Edit->Component Display..

Sorry for the waste of bandwidth,

    Michele
