Autocheckouttrigger not called when opening an ADEXL database

Hi!

When you normally open an ADEXL view for edit through the Library Manager the trigger "PreAutoCheckout" is used. However, if you try to edit adexl views through the axl API the trigger is not called. This could pose a problem if working with a version control system and when trying to avoid several people from editing the same file.

axl example code:

axlCreateSession("sess")
dbHandle = axlSetMainSetupDBLCV("sess" "lib" "cell" "view")
/*
Some changes, fex loading new corners and tests
*/
axlMainAppSaveSetup("sess") ; Could also be axlCommitSetupDB(dbHandle)

You are free to do operations on the setup database and save the changes without the "PreAutoCheckout" trigger beeing called at all. When opening a view through the Library Manager, I see that the function ddsServOpen is invoked with ddsServOpen("lib" "cell" "view" "edit" nil), which again uses the trigger mentioned. Is this something to consider using?

 Thanks in advance

    Max,

    ddsServOpen is an internal function intended for interactive use, so that's not what you want. I'd suggest that you use ddCheckout() or even ddAutoCheckout() to check out the cellView first. Could always use ddAmUsingDM() to check if the library is using DM, or ddNeedCheckout() to detect if something needs checking out.

    Note I didn't check the behaviour in a DM managed library (don't have time right now) - but wanted to give you a steer in the right direction.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
