Find Notches in Layers in Layout.

 Hi all,

I am using IC5141 version.  I didn't need even small notches in layout after completion of routing. I mean notches in the sense irregular shapes. How can I get this option?

Thank you,

Sarvani

    Sarvani,

Your question doesn't really make sense (to me at least) - can you elaborate? How are you doing the routing, and what "option" are you looking for?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

I am manually doing routing in layout. While doing this I am getting small notches (not exactly coincedence of metals) in layout. I need automatic option that corrects notches in metals.

You could probably write some simple Diva rules to detect and fill any notches; I've done it that way in the past.

I don't think there's any built-in capability to do this (certainly in IC5141); if you have access to the Virtuoso Chip Assembly Router (accessible in Layout XL via the Routing menu), it has a command "remove_notch" (Autoroute->Post Route->Remove notches from the menus). If the routing has been done manually and you go into VCAR, you'd need to unprotect all the nets or wires to allow VCAR to modify them, and you could select the offending nets, or let it remove notches everywhere.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

     Hi Andrew,

I am getting error message after clicking on Routing~>Autorouting. Is there any other file need to install. Please let me know your suggtion on this.

*ERROR* VCAR was not found in your $PATH. Please ensure that VCAR product has been installed correctly.

    Thank You,

    Sarvani

You need to install ICC11241 - available on downloads. Install the latest hotfix.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
