Ocean calc functions w/o PSF file?

My company has a conglomeration of tools, with an in-house script that stiches them together. The result is that I can not use ADE. I simulate with Spectre from the command line, using HSPICE style netlists, then use Ocean for post processing, preferrably from the command line. Because of this environment, I get the following error after my ocean scrips run the openResults() command:

           Could not find psf/runObjFile under
          /...path_to_sim_output.../MC_GlobalMC_LocalMC.raw. Calculator data access functions will not work

Is there any way to create the file that Ocean wants? When I use the Ocean GUI, WaveScan, and open the same data, there is no error, and calculator functions work. So, how does WaveScan acomplish it?

    The warning should not really cause any problems - it should still work. It is just saying that the VT() type functions will not work - you can use v("sigName" ?result 'tran) - i.e. the OCEAN functions, just not the calculator access functions.

    In later versions (e.g. later IC615 hotfixes), it appears to not give this warning any more and I can use VT() etc too.
