Error while using 'asiAddAnalysis' function

I wrote the following SKILL code in "XYZ.il"

procedure(xyz() asiAddAnalysis( 'analog

?name 'XYZ ?

prompt "XYZ" ?fieldList list( asiCreateAnalysisField( ?name 'from ?prompt "from" ?value "0" ?row 1 ?column 1 )

asiCreateAnalysisField( ?name 'to ?prompt "to" ?row 1 ?column 2) asiCreateAnalysisField( ?name 'by ?prompt "by" ?row 1 ?column 3) ) ?optionList list( asiCreateAnalysisOption( ?name 'XYZ1 ?value "1e-4" ) asiCreateAnalysisOption( ?name 'XYZ2 ?value "1e-6" ) ) ) )

when I load and run the procedure 'xyz()' from CIW window i get the fllowing error :

*Error* (Default-reader-method) generic:asiGetName class:symbol

when i run 'xyz()' from skill prompt i get :

*Error* eval: undefined function - asiAddAnalysis

The CDS log says that analog.cxt and oasis.cxt did get loaded.

What are you trying to achieve? Adding an analysis doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless you're developing the integration of a new simulator, and that's something that you should do with Cadence's help - because there's an extra integrators guide for that. Whilst this function is documented, you're calling it with the incorrect arguments - the first argument should be a tool, not a symbol, for a start.

And calling it from the skill prompt (do you mean running the "skill" executable?) makes no sense because the "skill" executable has no applications (such as ADE) integrated). The CIW is failing because you passed the wrong arguments...

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hello Andrew,

I have a question regarding asiGetAnalysis and asiAddAnalysisField. Basically I want to set the analysis type with option using SKILL code ( for example : I want setup transitent analysis for 1u using SKILL code ) . I was trying to that using  asiGetAnalysis and asiAddAnalysisField.

oTran = asiGetAnalysis ( tool "tran)

The document says that "tool" argument is a simulation object. My question is how do get the simulation object ( I mean which API will return that? )

It would be really helpful if you could kindly give me an example SKILL code that does the following :

    1) set the simulator to "spectre"

    2) setup transient analysis for 1u

    Thanks

    Hi cADEUser,

I think that you just want to set up an analysis to run.  The easiest way to do this might be through an OCEAN script.  One of the ways to create such a script would be to set up ADE as you want for running the simulation(s) and results post-processing as usual, and then use File -> Save Script :

You can edit the script as needed and then you can run it either by loading it ( load("oceanscript.ocn") ) from the CIW in a Virtuoso session, or you can start a stand-alone ocean session from the command line.

Hopefully this helps with what you are trying to do?

    Regards,

    Lawrence.

So far I have been able to to create test, create the VARs and setup corners. I am not able to setup the simulator and setup the analysis. Can you please help? Regards cADEUser
