As far as I know, the functionality related to guard rings and multi-part paths is the same in all IC5141 versions. You can create multi-part paths with SKILL using rodCreatePath - and you could use this solution which provides a SKILL way to draw a multi-part path using a template that you've defined in your tech file.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Thank you!

The functionality I want to operate by skill code is just like one of  functionalities in  the tool  which is called  Layout  Turbo.

The functionality in this tool can automatically creat guard ring when I select  some mos.

I wonder  if there are some skill codes perform like that .

could you provide me some samples?

    Thank you very much

What's wrong with Create->MPP Guard Ring? There's also Create->Fluid Guard Ring. The Turbo toolbox functionality is still available too if you need that.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

I am not sure if I need to create new post for this. Let me know if this is not the place to post this here.

How to follow  create-> MPP guard ring  using SKILL in non-interactive mode ? (In GUI mode it asks to select the bBox and place it around instance). Also how to edit Net name parameter within that form. Please guide.

    Thanks

    Sanket

    Sanket,

If you'd read the forum guidelines you'd have seen that you should have posted a new thread. However, there isn't any procedural interface to create guard rings. Your best bet would be to write something yourself using the SKILL code I mentioned earlier in this thread which can create an MPP given an existing MPP template and a list of points - you'd just have to generate the list of points yourself (a simple piece of SKILL code)

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

So, could I use the same solution (CCSdrawMPPUsingTemplate.ils) here to create the fluid guard ring? Any modification I needed to have? I found techGetMPPTemplateByName got nil.

If no, what command should I use?

Remark: I am using IC615 or later.

    Thanks!

No, you can't use this code to create a fluid guard ring instance, or even a modification of it. A fluid guard ring is a totally different thing to a multi-part path. It's a PCell with special parameters.

I've not really looked into creating fluid guard ring instances using SKILL - yes, they're an instance, but I'm not sure if there's an easier way to handle the special parameters that the FGR takes. So I would suggest contacting customer support as I certainly don't have time to look into this right now (the day job is keeping me pretty busy).

    Andrew.
