Tracing connectivity of a net in layout [IC6]

Hi,

   I am trying to write a SKILL code to trace a net in a layout view. Suppose in a current cellview i have 4 instances, and a net which is connected to 2 instances, the code has to give out the instance name & port name to which the net is been connected.

Adding to this, schematic view for this doesn't exist. This layout view is a test strucutre, which will not have a schematic view. So i need to find out the instances in the layout, to which a particular net is been connected. 

 ICFB version -  6.1.5

 Layout editor - VLS L

Could someone help me out in this? Do let me know if you need any other information

     Hi Arun,

    If there is no schematic then it seems unlikely that the layout will have connectivity, in which case you are really talking about tracing shapes rather than a logical net.  In IC615 you can use Mark Net to follow connectivity through shapes and then save this 'trace' to another cellview if needed.  Although this will not list out the instances that are connected, I believe that you could derive this information from the output of Mark Net.
