Create a guard ring that intersects

Hi,

I have a skill script that can create a guard ring.I can use the mouse to select the points to place the guard ring, but I cannot make that guard ring intersect. Is there any workaround for that, please let me know.

I am using rodCreatePath, function in my script to create it.

Thanks

Why would you want it to intersect? That will probably create re-entrant paths which aren't legal...

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Thank you for the quick response. Guard rings are usually used to isolate specific regions(for complete isolation it has to be perfectly isolated without any gaps). Can you suggest me another way or another function(rodCreatePath) where in I can intersect it to form a rectangle/polygon.

    Thanks

    Hi Vikram,

With a ROD MPP (rodCreatePath - multi-part path) guard ring you should be able to butt the two ends together so that they form a continuous loop without overlapping and intersecting.  For a MPP the master material cannot overlap (if I remember correctly), so it must abut or not meet at all, but I think that the other layers can overlap.

    Hopefully this will help you.

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
