fluid GuardRing?

Hi Experts,

Is there a similar features like fluid guardring for via provided by CADENCE?

if NO, anyone thinking to write a similar code for this?

    Peter,

    You can use the Guard Ring utility on the Tools->Technology File Manager form to install a fluid "guard ring" - if you specify the "Diffusion" as (say) Metal1, and "Metal" as Metal2, and pick the right via - you can delete the implant layer - it will do what you want, I think. Note that you need to hit the "Show More" choice in the Diffusion cyclic field to be able to pick the metal layers.

    So it doesn't strictly have to be a guard ring.

    You can implement your own, and there's an app note on support.cadence.com which talks about doing this - but it's not for the fainthearted as the protocol is quite complex. The app note has only limited examples too.
