Accessing AXL session from a preRun script

Good day.

I am  trying to determine the section of the model file in a preRun script (i.e. do things like: axlGetModel(), axlGetModelSection()).

This requires getting session ID first, so I can call for axlGetMainSetupDB(). Session ID is obtained by axlGetWindowSession() in every help file I could find. Unfortunately, this function returns nil when called from a preRun script (well, at least this is what I see).

So what is the proper way to do it?

Many thanks,

Yevgeny.

    Hi Yevgeny,

I think you want ocnxlMainSimSession(). This is covered in the documentation.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Looks like the thing. Indeed covered in documentation.

    Thanks  a million!

    Yevgeny.

P.S. Made tens of search requests on support.cadence.com (every thinkable flavor of "preRun script get session"). Never got a hit on that function.
