Merge via arrays with skill?

Hi,

I'm looking to merge all via arrays in a layout to single vias, and to use the original via areas. For instance a 3x3 array of 0.26um² vias would become one via of 0.78um², centered at the center of the original via array. Is it possible to do this with skill?

Thanks

Yes, there are many ways to do this.

The implementation details would depend on what you want the output to be; e.g.

    • OK with just a bunch of rectangles? Then you can use leLayerSize() and rodFillBBoxWithRects().
    • Do you want one logical via object (or CDB "symbolic" view)? Then you can use dbProduceOverlapInst() and lxComputeViaParams().
    • You could also group the individual vias into a figGroup,
    • or replace them with a mosaicInst!

Tom, thanks. leLayerSize() did the trick.
