Hello  everyone:

Recently ,I  changed  my  cadence  tools  from  IC514  to IC 615

and  I  want  to  stream  out  my  layout  GDS  with  command  line   just  like  I  do  in  IC514:

pipo  strmout  strmout.env

I  dont  want  to  strmout  out  GDS   in  this  way:  file--export--strmout

please  help  me!

thanks!

The streamout template syntax has changed in version 6. However, you can run pipo2Xstrm.pl to convert your template to the new syntax. You could also export your template from the Cadence user interface. The new command to run in 6.1.x is strmout (not pipo). Run it with no arguments to see all of the available command line arguments. If you want to use a template file, then run this:

    strmout -templateFile strmout.env

    thank  you for  your  reply!
I  do  it  like this way:
    pipo2Xstrm  -in strmout.env  -out  mystrmout
then  it  generate  the  file  mystrmout
so   I  do  this  :strmout  mystrmout
but  then  comes  an  error:the  “mystrmout” option  specified  Is  invalid.
the  strmout.env  Is  copied  from  IC514

when  it  failed  I  did  another  way  like:

     pipo2Xstrm  -in  strmout_template  -out  mytemplate
    strmout   mytemplate  strmout.env

strmout_template  Is  the  template  saved  from  the  UI  settings
strmout.env  is  still  copied  from  IC 514

but  the  error  comes: the  “strmout_template” option  specified  Is  invalid.

can  you  please  tell  me what  is wrong  in  this  way?
if   possible  could  you  tell  my  the  way  about  more  details?
    like  step1   step2

I  am  new  to  this   work!
    thank you  very  much!!!

That's because you didn't do what Derek suggested. You need to pass "-templateFile" on the command line:

    strmout -templateFile mystrmout

If you'd run strmout with no arguments (to see the help), as Derek also suggested, this would have been clear too.

    Regards,

    Andrew

    thank  you!

but  I  wonder   what  is  the  templateFile  looks  like?

is  it   the  template  which  save   from   virtuoso  Xstream   out   interface?

could  you  please  give  me  some  examples?

and  what  is  the  formatof the  file  mystrmout    ?

    A few things:

    1. The output of pipo2Xstrm.pl is this template (as Derek said)
    2. If you save a template from File->Export->Stream it's in this format (as Derek said)
    3. It's in the documentation. There's even a sample. The manuals are there for a reason... Simply run "cdnshelp" and search for strmout (or bring up the Help from the CIW, say, or even from the Export Stream form).

    Andrew.
