Hello  everyone:

Recently ,I  changed  my  cadence  tools  from  IC514  to IC 615

and  some bindkeys  in  IC514 use  with  key<Alt>  fail  in  IC615  .

Is  there  possible   to  use  key<Alt>   as   Bindkeys  in  IC615??

please  help  me!

thanks!

Add this to your .cdsenv, then restart Cadence. In 6.1, the default is for you to be able to access Cadence menu items using the Alt key much like you can do in Microsoft software. Alt-F would drop down the file menu, then you could press another key to run a command from that menu. To work like 5.1.41, you need to disable this feature.

    ui      enableMenuShortcuts     boolean     nil

thank you for your reply! it works!!

and  NOW   I  have  another  question:

in  IC514  when  you  copy  a  instance  and  press  the  right  button  of  the  mouse,

the  instance  rotates.  when  you  copy  a  instance  and  press  the Middle  button  of  the  mouse,

that   comes a  pop  up  menu.  However , in  IC615  it  performs  the  opposite  way:when

press  the  right  button  of  mouse  there  comes  a  pop  up  menu.  when  press  the  Middle  button

of  the  mouse  the  instance  rotates!

is  there  possible  to  make   the  Bindkeys  act   exactly  like   IC514??

    thank  you  very  much!!!

There's a solution for this. In general I'd advise you to get used to it, because right mouse button is used for context menus throughout IC61X, as is almost universal in many tools (on Windows and other platforms).

You can easily swap them back with bindkey definitions though (as mentioned in the solution - this talks about it for schematic, but it's equally easy for layout too. You can easily search for "Btn2" or "Btn3" in the Options->BindKeys form for Layout, Schematics and Symbols, and then use hiSetBindKey to define your own swapped mouse button definitions.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    thank  you!

but   if   I  want  the  bindkey  to  be  effected as  soon  as  I  start  the   IC615.

Is   there  a  solution   for  that?

    thanks!!!

hiSetBindkey can be set in your .cdsinit to reset the mouse keys. It is evaluated when the interactive session is started.
