How to sort a file(list) alphabetically using skill

Hi,

I have a text file such as:

M7(pin)(#37)
M7(drawing)(#37)
M6(drawing)(#36)
RMDMY(drawing5)(#116)
VAR(drawing)(#92)
RH(drawing4)(#117)
prBoundary(boundary)(#235)

How can I sort these outputs alphabetically using skill in order to have:

prBoundary(boundary)(#235)

M6(drawing)(#36)

M7(drawing)(#37)

M7(pin)(#37)

RH(drawing4)(#117)

RMDMY(drawing5)(#116)

VAR(drawing)(#92)

  • If it is just sorting a file, I'd probably use the UNIX sort command. 

    If you need to so it in SKILL, you could use infile to open the file and then have a while loop using gets with the result being cons'd onto a list, and then use sort() on the resulting list. Pretty easy.
