Changing bBox of cell using dbTransformBBox/geTransformUserBBox

Hi,

I am trying to reduce the bBox of my cell (it has been enlarged and is much larger than my prBoundary) and I have tried the following commands:

cv_layout = dbOpenCellViewByType("lib" "cell" "layout_test" "maskLayout" "a")
transform = list(list(-10000 -10000) "R0" 1)
dbTransformBBox(cv_layout~>bBox transform)

When I go back and check cv_layout~>bBox, nothing has changed. Am I missing a step? Or is there a different way to change the bBox of an entire cell?

Thanks,
Elizabeth

     Sorry, you can't do that. The bBox of a cellView master is calculated as the bounding box of the contents. You may have some text or other stuff outside the prBoundary area.

    If you are looking to set the selection box for the instance to the prBoundary, you can create a rectangle on the "instance" layer (I forget the purpose) to whatever size you need it and it will become the selection box. For placement, you can also add the snapBoundary (IC6.1.x) to make it snap to the placement grid if the prBoundary is not correct.

    Take a look at this post:

    /forums/p/14901/26010.aspx#26010

    For 6.1.x designs, I had to add the following two commands (to the function in the referenced post) to further help with errant bBoxes:

            mapcar('dbDeleteObject cv~>steiners)
            ;Delete markers that have isVisible set to nil (OA)
            mapcar('dbDeleteObject setof(x cv~>markers !x~>isVisible))
