Customized menu for parameters of Pcell.

Hello All,

I am new to Pcell skill. I have created a Pcell graphically with 15 parameters using dropdown Pcell menu.  Now with 15 parameters I want to group them so that in the parameters menu (in properties editor) I can have them in different groups with another heading (Like 1. Metals with all the option related to Metals, 2. Vias with all the options related to Vias).  How can this be done ?

    Hi,

    there is no "grouping" as such with CDF parameters, but you can order the CDF parameters in the order that you would like.  The Tools -> CDF -> Edit form allows you to move parameters up and down so that they are in the order that you prefer; when creating a parameter, each new parameter is added at the top of the list, so if you know the order ahead of of, create them in reverse order so that the last added is at the top of the list and now the first parameter.  By the way, graphical PCells are not recommended and it is generally more flexible and powerful to use SKILL based PCells.

    There are sample PCells in your installation hierarchy under <cds_install_root>/tools/dfII/samples/ROD/rodPcells/ - the documentation covers how to install them etc. but the starting point is:

    setSkillPath(cons(prependInstallPath("samples/ROD/rodPcells")
        getSkillPath()))
    load("install/spcLoadInstall.il")
    spcInstall()

    Hopefully this will help you to get started.

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
