Remove flashing selection halo when editing in place

Hi,

When I am editing in place a layout cellview, I am experiencing a stall/delay in performance everytime the cellview’s flashing halo changes from bright to dark. Is there a way to remove the alternation in the selection halo, so that it remains a single colour? I’m using IC6.1.6-64b.500.8.EHF1167

Thanks,

Brian.

    Brian,

First of all check the Display Resource settings for the hilite/drawing2 layer (this is what is used for the EIP outline). Go to Tools->Display Resource Manager in the CIW, hit Edit, and then ensure that it's picked the right technology library. Set the Layers to "All" (rather than "LSW") and search for hilite - check the packet definition used for hilite/drawing2 - you could change it to a non-blinking colour.

Alternatively start virtuoso with "virtuoso -noblink" or in the CIW/.cdsinit call hiEnableBlink(nil)

Typically it suggests that either your graphics driver (if using a direct Linux machine) or your X display server does not handle color palette changes, and instead implements that by forcing a redraw - which can kill performance.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Thanks Andrew, changing the hilite layer colour sorted it out.

    Andrew,

Can I do the same for the missing cellview bounding halo? I can't find this in the layer list.

    Regards,

    Brian.
