Stacked objects

Is there a way to cycle through stacked objects? As in if I have multiple layers stacked on top of one another, I can mouse over the objects, then hit something like tab or space and cycle through the objects under the cursor and when I click the current object will be selected?

    Which version are you using?

In IC61X, you can just keep clicking and it will cycle through the available objects under the cursor. Or you can do Right Mouse->(De)Select under cursor->... (you'll see a set of dynamically generated choices). Or you can use Window->Assistants->Dynamic Selection, move your cursor over the shape, use ctrl-H (by default the bindkey) to freeze the choices in the dynamic selection window, and you can then pick the appropriate shape in the dynamic selection assistant (ctrl-H again to unfreeze).

In IC5141, there's a bindkey (it's there in IC61 too) where you can select one of the shapes, and do Ctrl-Y repeatedly to cycle through all the other selection choices.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

I am in IC61X. To be honest I'm new to this environment and tool setup (coming from cadworks) so I did not know about this. I think this will suffice for what I am doing. I do not have a ctrl-Y bindkey so could you give me the command that it runs for you so I can map it. And thank you very much for this information!! :-)

Edit: Is there a way to be able to select a signal in a leaf cell within a hierarchy?

    HI Bryan,

The default binding for Ctrl-Y is "geCycleSelectNext()".

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
