Missing simui.menus file (Updated)

Hello,

I just wanted to ask a question of missing simui.menus file for my IC5141. From reading through other .menus files, it is said

* A description of the format used in this file can be found in
* file "simui.menus".

but there is no such file in my

/work/*name*/*name*/IC5141/menus

folder so I was wondering where I can possibly find a default simui.menus file?

So I found simui.menus file and uploaded it into my menus folder

but even so, still when I wish to use an Analog Design Environment and it is returning me an error saying:

*Error* sevFullMenuItem: extra arguments or keyword missing - (!

_spectreCheckFeature('spectre_analysisRF_TaskManager) then

("Parametric Analysis" ?callback sevParametricTool('sevSession1) ?form

t ... ) ("Corners" ?callback ((UartLoadPcfFiles) &&

sevCornersTool(&)) ?form t ... ) ("Monte Carlo" ?callback

sevMonteCarloTool('sevSession1) ?form t ... ) ... )

*WARNING* A Skill error occurred in function artMenuTrigger

and it really seems like the error is happening either the code is wrong, or there are some compatibility issues? I'm trying to access Analog Environment by how it is shown on the picture.

So I guess I can narrow down the questions to..

1) Why is this error appearing?

*Error* sevFullMenuItem: extra arguments or keyword missing - (!

_spectreCheckFeature('spectre_analysisRF_TaskManager) then

("Parametric Analysis" ?callback sevParametricTool('sevSession1) ?form

t ... ) ("Corners" ?callback ((UartLoadPcfFiles) &&

sevCornersTool(&)) ?form t ... ) ("Monte Carlo" ?callback

sevMonteCarloTool('sevSession1) ?form t ... ) ... )

*WARNING* A Skill error occurred in function artMenuTrigger

2) Which .menus files does Analog Environment depend on? Like for example, Spectre simulator relies on Spectre.menus file, so I was wondering what *.menus file Analog Environment depend on..

Thank you very much for any helps, it will be very appreciated.

Sincerely.

    Unless you are trying to customize the menus, you should not need a menus directory or menus files yourself. Rely instead on the version of the file in the installation, rather than having a local (and potentially incompatible) copy.

    The installation menu files are at <ICinstDir>/tools/dfII/etc/tools/menus

    The spectre interface in ADE uses both the spectre.menus and simui.menus files

    Check whether you have other menus directories by typing (in UNIX) "cdswhich -all menus" and then seeing if any of these directories has spectre.menus or simui.menus files - consider removing them if it is breaking ADE.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew, so after reading through your reply regarding how ADE uses both the simui.menus AND spectre.menus, I went ahead and found a default spectre.menus and replaced it with the previous version, and it works now! Thank you so much, I didn't expect spectre.menus to be wrong too and was necessary for ADE environment. Anyhow, thank you very much for your reply
