Virtual connection in Layout XL

Inas

Hi All,

I have an internal net and i don't want to connect it physically on that level i want to connect it visrtually and without putting extra pin for it in the schematic.

So can anyone tell me how to do that?

Is there a certain layer or certain way to write that on the wire?

Thanks alot

I'm not sure I understand your question? If the net exists in the layout and shapes are associated with that net then they are "logically" connected, but not necessarily physically connected. However, if you leave this connection 'open' in the current level then Virtuoso Layout Suite XL (VLS-XL) at this level will not be 'satisfied' that the connection is made (because it hasn't been), even if you make the connection at a higher level of hierarchy (though the higher level VLS-XL should understand the connection is complete, from that level of hierarchy looking downwards). It sounds as though your circuit structure / architecture may need some re-arranging? Regards, Lawrence.
