How to find non-interactive command for the interactive commands found from CDS.log file

Hi all,

When I do any task in graphic mode in virtuoso, it creates CDS.log file where I can easily find SKILL command for the step I did.

But I want to work non-interactively. I am told that those interactive SKILL commands will behave differently in non-interactive environment.

So I want some help from how to find non-interactive (non-graphical) SKILL command  for respective graphical SKILL command from CDS.log file ?

I don't need replay file as well.

I will be glad if you can guide me through this!

Thanks,

San

    San,

You seem to have posted two similar and related questions. Anyway, interactive SKILL functions behave in exactly the same way in -nograph mode as they do in normal mode - the issue is that they typically would prompt you to enter something in a form or dialog box and obviously you can't interact with the commands when there's no form displayed. The replay file approach allows you to capture the SKILL code corresponding to interacting with those forms, but this is typically not a good approach for batch automating some operation.

You would normally need to consult the documentation - when you're doing things interactively, you will typically be calling functions with "Hi" in the function name, but you need to look for a procedural equivalent which takes arguments instead of launching a form, and these won't have "Hi" in the function name ("Hi" stands for Human Interface").

    Regards,

    Andrew.
