Creating an active SKILL tool that runs when an action is performed

Is there a way to create a skill tool that runs every time a certain action is performed within a window, similar to how the DRD notify tool works in Layout? I want to create a tool for layout XL that when you start drawing a wire on a net that corresponds to a net on the schematic, it goes and grabs some info about the net from the schematic and displays it on the layout screen next to the wire being created. So basically every time you use Ctrl+Shift+W and click on a point to start drawing or something similar, the SKILL function would run.

Is this possible?

Thanks

    Hi Mohammed,

You indicated in the tags that this is IC61x in which case you don't need to write any code for this, this feature is already built-in (at a lower level than SKILL, thus more efficient too).  Options -> Dynamic Display turn on both Show Info Balloon and Measurement Display and then use the "Setup" tab to control what you see for the various shapes and objects.

    Best regards,

    Lawrence.

Thanks Lawrence. In the setup tab of the dynamic display option, there is a check box labeled "Custom SKILL Function." Where do I have to go to define the SKILL function that I want to use to create some custom measurements to display?

Look at the odcReg* functions in the documentation, that should explain how to do this. Regards, Lawrence.
