Change lower cell edit mode

I have a script that changes a layers coloring hierarchically so all the shapes under point will be changed.

However, if a lower cell was not opened in edit mode the cell looks changed but is not changed if you close the cell and reopen the cell.

Is there a way to change the edit mode of the lower cell?
Is there a skill function to change the edit mode of a cellview?

geChangeEditMode only seems to work on the top level cellview.

    Paul,

    dbReopen() is what  you want.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
