how to create a dynamic form?

Hi All

I'd like to create a dynamic form, just like the property form of "vpwl" voltage source in the "analogLib".

In my form, I also has a integer field like "Number of pairs of points" to define how many groups of string fields I would like to have later on; this group of fields can be understand as the "Time x" and "Voltage x" pairs in the "vpwl" property form.

In the callback functions of the integer field, I have changed the form->fields value accordingly, to "add" or "remove" the corresponding fields groups in the list of fields

Although the form->fields value has been changed, the form still remains the same.

Does anyone know how to update the form, or make a dynamic form

P.S when one field is removed from the form, I want the content in that field is still kept; so when this form has been brought back later, the content is still there.

Best Regards

Yi

    Yi,

Here's one example of doing such a thing: http://community.cadence.com/cadence_technology_forums/f/48/p/13412/20801#20801

Another possibility would be to control the visibility of fields - this way you could keep the content of the fields once you've added them, but use the ->invisible property on the field to make it so it's not shown. Alternatively you can have callbacks on the fields to store away the values in another structure, or collect this info just before you delete the filed. Lots of ways to skin a cat.

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew

    Thank you for your reply

I will take a look on your examples.

I have tried to control the visibility of the field.

It can make the field invisible, but somehow the size of the form does not change accordingly.

I create a 2D form, might that is the reason.

Currently, I make my dynamic form by adding and delete the corresponding fields, except losing the content, the rest is fine.

I will take your suggestions to copy the content of the field to another place, while deleting the field.

    Thank you very much.

    Best Regards
